How to connect the fence panel?
Fence panels are now very popular. These are aesthetic fences, easy to install, which perfectly decorate and protect the property from animals and intruders. They are chosen by both private individuals and investors looking for proven fencing materials at a reasonable price. Do you want to make a fence from panels? Learn how to combine them.
Correct connection of fence panels and safety and durability of the fence
A panel fence must withstand many years of operation, which is why it should be carefully fixed and protected against loosening of spans and rust. The metal structure will for many years resist strong winds, moisture, heat, frost, as well as the pressure of the branches of newly planted shrubs and trees growing around it.
If you have a large, heavy dog on the property, it will certainly lean its whole body against a metal fence more than once – so take care of the safety of your pet and passers-by, perform precise installation of panels. All spans should form a rigid, compact structure with fence posts, anchored or concreted in the ground.
2 techniques for mounting a panel fence
Installation of fence panels is preceded by a number of other activities, such as: plantation and cleaning of the area for the fence, excavation and embedding posts. If you choose the method of concreting fence posts, you must additionally wait a few days for the concrete to bind to be able to continue the assembly work. The next stage of works is fixing the panels – you can choose from two techniques of joining spans:
-
connecting individual panels with posts from the inside,
-
connecting all panels from the outside of the posts (a monolithic construction is created).
The first of these ways of connecting fence panels is usually chosen by the owners of plots located on a sloping area, where there is no other option than the construction of a fence in a cascade form. The second type of assembly (using crimping machines) works well whenever investors want express fencing of the property.

Fence panel – joining two spans into one
How to combine panels to maintain the aesthetics and functionality of the fence? To merge the metal spans of your fence you will need:
-
stainless steel fasteners (clips),
-
manual tools – a universal crimping machine (forceps) for fence panels.
The crimping machine is not the cheapest tool, so if you do not have it in your workshop, borrow it from a friend or from a friendly wholesaler to reduce the total cost of installing the fence.
Want to learn how to connect two fence panels using a crimping machine? The whole procedure takes a few minutes and takes place in three simple stages:
-
spacing of spans in places of planned assembly,
-
attach the initial panel to the post,
-
align the next panel with the initial panel, taking care of maintaining the vertical and horizontal of both elements (the spans should form a monolith),
-
place the clamp between two adjacent edges of the panels (the terminals should be located in the lower, middle and upper parts of the panels – use more clamps if 3 are not enough and the binding remains too loose),
-
firmly jam the clips with a crimping machine,
The panels, connected by clamps, form a uniform, compact structure, ready to be connected to the fence poles.

How to connect the fence panel with posts?
For fixing the fence panel you need metal clamps for posts. It is not difficult to notice that they have different shapes, so they are divided into: initial, corner and through clamps. Always start the installation of panel spans from the starting post – apply clamps to it, then set the panel in a vertical position and screw it with screws.
Instead of traditional bolt nuts, you can use special tear nuts, the upper part of which falls off immediately after tightening, which makes it difficult for the thief to dismantle the fence and steal metal elements. Remember to attach the panels to the posts in accordance with the instructions of the panel manufacturers, where you will choose the appropriate mounting accessories.
