Fence posts perform several very important functions. Their primary task is to support the fence, gate and wicket. They are also used to stretch individual sections of the mesh or to fix individual panel spans. Various mounting accessories (clamps, brackets, tensions) can be installed on each post, thanks to which assembly work is carried out quickly and efficiently.

Metal fence poles are both a structural and decorative element. Together with the mesh or openwork fence panels, they should form a visually attractive whole. They significantly affect the aesthetics of the fence and the entire bypass. The posts, selected in the right color and height, emphasize the modern character of the property.

Universal fence posts for mesh 2 m

Fences around private and commercial properties usually have a standard height of 1.2 m or 1.5 m, and the depth of the holes for the posts is on average 50-80 cm, depending on the type of substrate. For the installation of such a fence, it is best to use a post with a height of 2 m – it fits most of the fence materials available on the market, such as nets or galvanized panels.

Regardless of what the target height of the fence is to be, the 2 m post can be used for both high and low fences, for shallow and deep holes. These universal supports are enough to harden using dry concrete, aggregate, fixing masses or steel anchors. The 2 m posts fit all prefabricated fasteners and foundations available on the Polish market.

2 m post – which one to choose for a mesh and panel fence?

Fence posts of 2 m are available in different variants: they can have a cross-section of a circle or a rectangle. Metal, round pipes are usually used for mounting mesh fences, and rectangular profiles for the construction of panel fences. Manufacturers offer two-meter posts with or without caps (canopies), with different wall thicknesses, for example:

• 1.25 mm,

• 1.3 mm,

• 1.5 mm,

• 2 mm.

The thicker the wall of the pole, the better it will withstand heavy loads, so at the stage of buying a fence it is worth paying attention to this important detail.

Pipes sold in the form of 2 m round posts are available in several standard diameters (fi): 42 mm, 48 mm, 50 mm and in other sizes, adapted to various, proprietary fencing systems. Typical 2-meter fence profiles have a cross section of 60 mm x 40 mm. The universal size makes them fit most of the 1.5 m system panels available in Poland in the 2 D or 3 D version.

Metal posts 2 m: galvanized or powder coated?

Metal profiles and pipes for mounting the fence should have an anti-corrosion layer. How do manufacturers protect 2 m posts against rust? To this end, they shall use:

• zinc coatings,

• powder coating,

• galvanizing and varnish.

The cheapest fence posts have one layer of zinc – these are usually intended for the construction of fences around parking lots, institutions or playgrounds. More expensive poles, galvanized and powder coated are more aesthetic and look great on private property.

Galvanizing of metal poles is now a standard and most manufacturers provide it. Zinc makes the profiles and pipes serve for many years and there are no signs of corrosion on them. If the fence is of a representative nature, it is worth choosing posts of 2 m two-layer: galvanized and varnished in green, anthracite, black, graphite or brown.

Installation of a fence mesh is not easy, which is why many experienced fitters commission the execution of non-standard 2 m posts to be able to efficiently erect a fence. What distinguishes pipes, produced to individual order? These are the bars that have:

• additional nuts for fixing rods or tension wire,

• welded protective caps (canopies),

• ready-made, drilled holes for screws,

• any wall thickness and diameter.

Posts 2 m for fixing forest mesh

Metal poles are not suitable for installing temporary fences, because they are too expensive and their installation is time-consuming. As an alternative, it is worth choosing 2 m wooden stamps. It is enough to impregnate them, dig into the ground to a depth of 50 cm, and then harden and attach to them with skoblami standard wire forest mesh with a height of 1.5 m.

What are the best wooden posts for forest mesh? These are debarked pine stamps, carefully dried and unused, on which there should be no traces of bark beetles or rot.
